On sunday night I was very excited to start the week and was really looking forward to monday morning. That gives me confidence that i am on the right path. It wasn’t always that way. My trade ideas going into the week were right, but i failed the execution, ending up losing 1R so far instead of winning many R multiples. Indeed, had everything been executed perfectly there was 20+R for the taking. Of course i’m not saying i would have made that much money but between 20R and -1R there is room for a profitable trader, isn’t it? This is not the first time i have the right direction but fail the execution. Therefore it’s time i apply what i already know: review what went wrong so i won’t do it again, and review what went right so i can do more of it. I do keep a journal (Edgewonk), and a handwritten diary. But i need to have a closer look at me and my behaviour during the week. For this i’ll use the fantastic template provided by Dr. Steenbarger in his Forbes tribune.
